Newsday provides another dreary This-season-is-going-to-be-so-great-because-so-many-seniors-are-staying-in-school tract. I see plenty of guys who stay four years in my travels, so I'm guessing that they mean "seniors with superb chances at being drafted." Personally, I'm sick of this crap. Sure, having a star system makes college basketball easier to follow, but love the game - not the player.

Coack-K-saved-college-basketball-by-staying-at-Duke stories are getting pretty annoying too. Like he was actually going anyway.

Do you live in the Bay Area? Bring a few cans of soup, help the needy, see the Pete Newell Challenge semifinals.

The Niagara Gazette takes a look at the Niagara Purple Eagles' quest to reach the Tournament for the first time since 1970.

Your Coaches vs. Cancer semifinals are set: Memphis vs. St. Mary's and Mississippi State vs. Syracuse. Doubleheader on Thursday, final on Friday. Despite the high cost of electricity at the Garden, there will be a consolation game.

You'll be able to tell who the Portland Pilots players are - they're the ones with the excellent table manners.
